Why we’re building this

How many sheets will cover that formwork? How much loose soil will need hauling? What happens to a roof estimate when you allow for overlap?

They’re everyday questions, but answering them often means piecing together a formula, a conversion, and a few notes on paper. ConstructGauge brings those steps together in tools you can open and use when you need them.

Our aim is simple: help you get to a useful estimate, understand where it came from, and see what changes when you adjust the inputs.

For the desk and the jobsite

You might be preparing a quantity estimate, checking a material order, studying a construction problem, or planning a project of your own. You don’t need an account to use our tools. Open a calculator, enter your measurements, and work through the result.

We design for small screens as well as larger ones, with readable results and metric and imperial options. Whether you measure in metres or feet, the calculation should be easy to follow.

The number is only part of the answer

A result is more useful when you can check the reasoning behind it. Our tool pages explain the method, walk through examples, and spell out the assumptions and limitations.

A calculator can’t see your site, inspect your materials, or know a supplier’s exact product details. Use the results as a starting point, then check them against your drawings, specifications, and actual conditions before ordering materials or making decisions on site.

Keeping things straightforward

We want ConstructGauge to stay easy to use: free tools, no subscription, and no account to manage. The plan is to support the site through display advertising as it grows.

We’re building the collection one practical problem at a time. Today, you can explore tools for formwork, earthwork, and roofing. The goal stays the same as we add more: clear inputs, useful results, and enough explanation to help you make sense of both.
